Central villa with swimming pool
Just a sniff of a freshly baked croissant from the boulangerie, and with the village and port a lazy wander from your front door, where better to enjoy the sun that shines for 300 days each year on three sides of this friendly villa in a quiet residential street.

With wifi internet connection from Spring 2012 and international TV options, the house has all you could need for a family escape to the South of France, but just step down from the smart modern kitchen into the dining room/garden room and prepare to spend your day by the brand new swimming pool, surrounded by the palm trees, shrubs and lawn that give the house its name.

The pool itself is more than 9 metres (32 ft) long and enjoys all day sunshine, and has an electric cover for your peace of mind. Enjoy a poolside barbecue with the family and friends or settle down with a good book and a long cool Noilly Prat Marseillanais cocktail on the living room patio terrace on the other side of the villa.
Two sets of double doors from that patio lead to the main living room salon, which has three big comfy sofas, perfect for enjoying an evening of home entertainment on the large wide-screen TV, DVD and music centre, and in winter for savouring a bottle of a hearty local red wine in front of a cosy fire and hearth.
The kitchen, with its intimate corner breakfast bar for two is fully equipped with top quality Brandt cooker and electric oven, dishwasher, microwave and fridge freezer. Breakfast for the family is best enjoyed outdoors in summer, by the pool. PRICES in 2012

You may leave the car at home to wander round to the village shops, several bakeries, and fresh olives, fruit, salads, meat and fish on market day.
A large Carrefour Market suermarket on the edge of the village has everything you could need, from swimwear to toiletries to the latest smartphones.
Pause a while to catch up on the local gossip at a table outside the Marine Bar on the square, or hop on a bus to Agde, Sete or Beziers.
In July and August an hourly shuttle bus heads down to the long sandy beach across the lagoon.
In the evening, a stroll into the village. Bernard will be welcoming the Boulevard regulars to a table on the pavement opposite the Mairie.
The smart set will have sauntered in to town for a celebration degustation dinner at the Table d'Emilie; and a livelier crowd made its way to the church square for a get together at the Delicatessen.
You could always amble down to the port, wander past the cafes and restaurants and simply browse the menus with their catch of the day and chef’s specials chalked up on the blackboards.
The quayside is a great place for dithering between the fashionable fare at the Château, fabulous wines at the Taverne, or the traditional dishes at O'Soleil, La Pacheline or Cote Sud
The Crêperie Camille by the Canal duMidi barges, a touch of tuscan flavour at La Luna or an inventive contemporary platter at Entre Ciel et Mer amongst the temptations further along the port.
So much temptation and all so close to home.
If you can't bear to leave the poolside - even to go in to the dining room in the den next to the water - then chuck another seabass on the barbie and stay outside.
A stone barbecue on the patio is perfect for grilling fresh meat from the market or the catch of the day from the lagoon. Sizzle king prawns or steaks and picnic on the lawn.

Tennis courts by the lakeside. The beach is only a 5 minute drive away. And there, find jet skis and diving classes.
Head further along the coast and Cap d'Agde brings myriad sporting treats from pedalos to the excellent Golf Club. And there are Casinos at Agde and Sete for the gaming tables.
The house itself is a few minutes walk from the village theatre with its programme of music and drama, and the arts hub of Pezenas is 20 minutes by car from Marseillan.
